Alexander was riding his white horse down the dirt road through the field, his head lowered and his black hood hiding his eyes. It was night time of course, and the moon shone softly across the tall grass the waved back and forth on either side of the road.
Two men were out hunting, when one of them stopped and noticed Alexander riding by on his horse, of course Alexander didn't see them because they were farther away and hidden in the grass. "Hey, does he look familiar?" The first hunter asked, watching the Assassin.
The Second hunter stopped and looked at Alexander, lowering his bow and arrow, "Kind of, why? A friend of yours?"
"Not the least bit! That's the Assassin from all of those Wanted posters... Just look, his armor is unusual- ...in fact, that's the armor that Leonardo Da Vinci made! It IS him." The First one answered, scratching his chin.
"Oh really? How much is he worth, then?" The second hunter asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Two years ago, he was worth five million. After he managed to Assassinate the two Twin Kings, he's worth a good five hundred million now..."
"THAT MUCH FOR ONE GUY?!" The second asked, eyes wide in shock.
"Quiet, idiot!" The first guy pulled the second guy down into the grass, covering his mouth with his hands. "He could hear us. We should go get the others, there will be a chase tonight, damn sure of it too!"
The two of them got up and quietly ran back to gather more Hunters.
Alexander stopped his horse, slowly looking out the side of his hood at where the men were, suspicious of something, but he wasn't quite sure what, because he hadn't seen either of them. His golden eyes flashed once, and he looked forward again, tapping heels against his horse in the sides gently so it would walk again, still following the dirt road. It was quite lonely out on the road at this time of night, and he was already headed back toward the city. He had a few hours to go until he actually reached it, but he was enjoying what felt like an endless night, being alone and traveling made him felt young and free again. He sighed to him self peacefully.
A few minutes later, Alexander's horse started to buck it's head back, losing its trail for a moment. "Whoa, whoa, easy girl..." He rubbed the horse on her neck to calm her down, then suddenly he felt a strange vibration coming through the ground. He raised his head and looked over his shoulder, eyes widening as he spotted a huge group of Hunters riding on black and brown horses, some of them were holding torches and others lanterns. Alexander cursed out loud before the horse finally took off into a race down the road, catching Alex off guard for a moment, but he gripped the reins tightly and held on, looking down the road again, he was too far from the city to make it in time.
The horse picked up speed, and Alexander's cape swayed in the wind, violently slapping against Alex's back. He knew the Hunters were getting closer by the sounds of their horses heavy hooves, and his heart felt like it was racing faster than his own horse. Alex leaned forward more, making his horse go as fast as it could, he was outnumbered by at least thirty men and their horses.
An arrow shot through the air and pierced Alexander's right shoulder, making him wince in pain, he grabbed the arrow and pulled it out, throwing it over his shoulder. "Damn it!" He rubbed his shoulder before gripping the reins again.
One of the Hunters raised their bow and arrow with one hand, aiming it at the center of Alexander's back, he shot the arrow across without hesitation which caused the arrow to miss and scrape Alexander's cheek and rip his hood.
Alexander was forced to turn the horse off the road, and they raced down the field through the tall grass. Now that they were off the road, they were in danger of falling into a swamp or flying right off a cliff, but he knew it was either that way or die to a dozen arrows in his back.
Just as they turned off the road, one of the arrows were shot into Alexander's horse, straight through its back leg, sending Alexander and the horse tumbling forward and down a rocky hill. Alexander and the horse finally hit the base of the hill, but the Horse was dead from the fall, and Alex had smashed the bone in his ankle and right arm, but luckily he was left handed so he could use his weapons if need be. "Grhhgh..." Alex groaned, coughing slightly.
The huge group of hunters gathered at the top of the hill, and the leader jumped off his horse and carefully walked down, followed by three other men behind him. The leader knelt down over Alexander and flipped him over, pulling his hood off to get a clear identity. "It's him alright, well done men." he nodded to the others, then took out a knife and put it to Alexander's chest, grinning, "Say goodbye, Assassin..." he said, then carved the knife into Alex's chest, slicing a cross through his heart.
Alexander screamed in pain, grabbing the man by his arm and twisting it, breaking it immediately. He kicked the man back and pulled the knife out of his chest, realizing it had holy water on the blade. He cursed and tried to stand up, his vision becoming dizzy soon, he felt sick in his stomach, and found him self pinned to the ground by the two other men soon, two other blades stabbed down through his arms, keeping him to the ground.
The leader rubbed his arm, acting as if pain was nothing, he spat and shook his head, "They better pay good for you, boy..."
